Taiwan Offers Attractive Valuation in Asia
The GDP in Taiwan is driven by private consumption with exports lagging resulting in negative GDP growth. Earnings are expected to rebound in 2017 and Taiwan has dividend yield among the highest in Asia. Fundamentals are moderate with ROE at approximately 12% as of 1H16. Valuation is attractive due to relatively low PB and high dividend yield. In 2Q16 the best performing sector was Consumer Staples and the worst performing was Energy.
