Background
Founded in 1969, Haad Thip Public Company Limited is one of the two franchise distributors of Coca-Cola beverages in Thailand, covering the southern region of the country.
Its product portfolio includes sparkling beverages such as Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Schweppes and A&W, as well as still beverages such as Aquarius, Minute Maid, Habu Cooling and Namthip Drinking Water.
Business Description
The company has a monopoly of the manufacture and distribution of Coca-Cola in southern Thailand. The second franchise distributor is ThaiNamthip, which covers all remaining regions of the country.
Haad Thip exclusively covers 14 southern provinces in the country, specifically Chumphon, Ranong, Yala, Krabi, Phuket, Phang-nga, Trang, Phatthalung, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Satun, Pattani and Narathiwat.
The company was granted a franchise by the Coca-Cola Company of Atlanta, Georgia, as a producer and distributor of sparkling and still beverages. HTC’s product portfolio includes soft drinks under the trademark of Coca-Cola, including carbonated beverages such as Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Schweppes and A&W, as well as still beverages such as Aquarius, Minute Maid, Habu Cooling and Namthip drinking water.
HTC sells a total of more than one billion glass bottles and cans of soft drinks per year. The company sponsors several festivals and sports games in order to build a strong brand recognition for Coca-Cola products.
Leadership
General Charan Kullavanijaya has served as an independent Chairman of the Board since 29 April 1998. He has a long career within the military behind him and is a former senator as well as former Secretary General of the National Security Council.
Sec. Lt. Phairoch Rattakul has been the CEO of HTC since 24 August 1978. He holds a Bachelor of Economics at Bristol University England. The Rattakul family owns 35% of the outstanding shares in the company.

Profitable Growth has improved to above average for the first time in five years.
The company ranks among the best 232 of 580 medium consumer staples companies worldwide.
Profitability has improved to average over the last year, but Growth has improved to World Class.
Profit Margin drove the improvement in Profitability.
Both Sales Growth and Margin Change were behind the improved Growth ranking.
